IM | Health Urgent Care currently offers a number of testing and screening options for SARS-CoV-2.
- RT-PCR SARS-CoV-2
- Rapid Molecular, SARS-CoV-2 test
- CoronaChek COVID-19 IgG/IgM Rapid Antibody Test
RT-PCR SARS-CoV-2 testing FAQs:
- What is an RT-PCR SARS-CoV-2 test?
- Also called a “molecular test”, a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test is a test used to diagnose people who are currently infected with SARS-CoV-2, which is the coronavirus that causes COVID-19.
- The PCR test is the “gold standard” test for diagnosing COVID-19 because it’s the most accurate and reliable test.
- How much does it cost?
- With insurance, most COVID testing is covered when testing is deemed necessary for the evaluation and diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2.
- Without insurance or for screening purposes, all PCR COVID testing is self pay.
- What is the turnaround time for the RT-PCR test?
- Because we use a third party lab, turn around is dependent on volume.
- Typical turnaround time is 48-72 hours.
Rapid Molecular, SARS-CoV-2 Testing FAQs:
- What is the SARS-CoV-2 rapid molecular test?
- This test is a nucleic acid amplification test (NAAT), similar to the RT-PCR test.
- Like the RT-PCR test, the rapid molecular test detects viral RNA (nucleic acid), which is the virus’s genetic material.
- We use a shallow nasal swab to collect the sample.
- Results in 30 minutes
- How much does it cost?
- The rapid molecular test is self-pay.
CoronaChek™ COVID-19 IgG/IgM Rapid Antibody Test FAQs:
- What is the CoronaChek™ Rapid Antibody Test?
- CoronaChek is a rapid serology test obtained via a finger stick blood sample.
- It detects IgM and IgG antibodies against COVID-19 in the blood, which indicates that a person has been exposed to and developed antibodies against the virus.
- Because the test checks for antibodies, it may also confirm that your body produced antibodies in response to vaccine administration.
- It is not used to diagnose an active COVID-19 infection. If clinically indicated, a follow up test may be warranted.
- Can the CoronaChek™ antibody test confirm that my body produced a response to the Vaccine?
- Yes, because the test checks for antibodies, it will confirm your body’s response to a COVID-19 vaccination.
- It is important that you wait at least 2 weeks before checking for antibody response from a COVID-19 vaccine.
- How accurate is the test?
- The CoronaChek™ antibody test is extremely sensitive and specific.
- 99.6% Accuracy for the detection of IgG
- 97.8% Accuracy for the detection of IgM
- There is a very small chance of a false positive.
- How much does it cost?
- The CoronaChek Antibody Test is $50 self pay.

- (RT)-PCR tests will also be made available through the patient portal of LabCorp or Quest.

IM Health Urgent Care currently offers both (RT)-PCR testing and Rapid antigen testing.
- What’s the difference and which is right for me?
- (RT)-PCR testing is considered the “Gold Standard” in testing for Covid-19.
- These results are considered to be close to 100% accurate.
- Turn around time is usually a few days.
