We are seeking a friendly and energetic individual interested in working with our practice as a Medical Assistant. This is a privately owned, state of the art medical office with primary care, urgent care, and physical therapy, whose mission is to provide comprehensive health care in the medical home model. The office is entirely electronic and affiliated with the Main Line Health System and Penn Medicine. We are searching for a full-time Medical Assistant to work in our busy Family Practice. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and will provide high-quality customer service. This position offers a pleasant working environment that focuses on superior patient experience, and not productivity/patient throughput.

The position works closely with physician and nurse practitioners as an integral member of the care team. The Medical Assistant provides close support and primary patient contact for physicians and nurse practitioners, establishing critical relationships and rapport with patients. 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Room patients
  • Update medical records
  • Handle correspondence with patients under appropriate scope of practice
  • Participate in inter-office communication and meetings
  • Record vital signs
  • Triage patient calls 
  • Explain treatment procedures
  • Prepare patients for examinations
  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens
  • Prepare examine rooms
  • Phone in prescriptions to pharmacy
  • Perform venipuncture
  • Perform electrocardiograms
  • Clean examination rooms
  • Package lab specimens and arrange laboratory pickups
  • Perform drug and imaging prior authorizations
  • Aid physicians/NPs with billing office notes
  • Assist coordinating patient care with specialists/hospitals/radiology offices
  • Perform chart review prior to patients’ appointments
  • Follow-up with patients who have outstanding lab test orders
  • Other administrative duties as assigned
  • Follow HIPAA compliance guidelines

Job Type: Full-time, part-time weekdays, evenings, weekends

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Medical Practice experience, 1 year preferred
  • Electronic Medical Records experience, 1 year preferred
